Do Characters Remember Past Conversations?
Character memory in AICHIKI works differently depending on your subscription level and whether you use memory boosts.
Memory System Overview
For Free Users
- Limited Memory: Characters have basic memory within the current chat session
 - No Cross-Chat Memory: Each new chat starts fresh - characters won't remember previous conversations
 - Boost Memory Option: You can purchase "Boost Memory" for individual chats

For Plus Users
- Full Unlimited Memory: Characters remember everything within each chat session
 - Enhanced Context: Much larger memory capacity for richer, more detailed conversations
 - No Cross-Chat Memory: Each new chat still starts fresh (by design for roleplay flexibility)
 - Same AI models as Free: Consistent chat quality with unlimited memory

For Premium Users
- Full Unlimited Memory: Characters remember everything within each chat session
 - Enhanced Context: Much larger memory capacity for richer, more detailed conversations
 - Advanced AI Models: Higher quality responses and more sophisticated interactions
 - No Cross-Chat Memory: Each new chat still starts fresh (by design for roleplay flexibility)

🚀 Boost Memory Feature (Free Users)
Free users can enhance their chat experience with the "Boost Memory" button available in character chats.
How Boost Memory Works
- One-time purchase: Small fee per use (not a subscription)
 - 3-day duration: Full memory enabled for exactly 3 days in that specific chat
 - Chat-specific: Only affects the chat where you purchased it
 - Repeatable: Can be purchased multiple times for the same chat or different chats
 - Automatic revert: After 3 days, the chat returns to limited memory

When to Use Boost Memory
Perfect for:
- Long, detailed roleplay sessions
 - Complex storylines that need continuity
 - Important conversations you want the character to fully remember
 - Testing whether unlimited memory features (Plus or Premium) are worth upgrading for

💬 AICHIKI Assistant Memory
Chat with AICHIKI herself (the assistant) has a different memory system:
- User-controlled: You can delete memory manually when needed
 - System-managed: Old memories may be automatically cleared by intelligent system logic over time
 - Adaptive: The system decides memory management based on usage patterns

Why Cross-Chat Separation Works for Roleplay
This design is intentional. AICHIKI is built around roleplay flexibility, and starting fresh each chat allows you to:
- Create multiple storylines with the same character
 - Use different identities (your custom avatars) for each chat
 - Explore different relationship dynamics without past interactions influencing the character's behavior

Each time you start a new chat, the app will ask you to select both your identity and language (unless you've set defaults for both). That identity is treated as a new persona in that session, and the character will only know what you share in that particular chat.
Note
Characters will not reference events from other chats unless you reintroduce them in the new conversation. This keeps each storyline fully customizable and separate.
