🎨 Chat Themes Guide
Transform your conversations with beautiful, immersive themes! AICHIKI's chat themes let you customize the look and feel of your conversations with stunning visuals, colors, and backgrounds.
🚀 How to Apply a Theme
- Open any conversation with a character
- Tap the ⋯ menu in the top-right corner
- Select "Theme Selector" (look for the color palette icon)
- Browse the theme grid and tap any theme to preview it instantly
- Tap "Save" to keep your chosen theme
Your theme applies immediately and stays with that specific conversation. Each chat can have its own unique theme!

Locked Themes
Themes with a gold border and a lock require an active Plus or Premium subscription. They are visible to all users but locked until you upgrade.
✨ Customizing Your Theme
When browsing themes, tap the Customize button (🎨 palette icon) in the top-right corner of the theme selector to open the customization panel for the theme you've selected. Adjust it to your liking, then tap Save from within the customization panel to apply everything.
After Saving — Quick Access
Once you have an active theme, you don't need to browse the full list just to tweak it. Tap ⋯ → Theme and then tap the arrow next to your current theme name to go straight to Theme Settings for your active theme.
What You Can Customize
Chat Font — Choose text size: Small, Normal, or Large
Use Default Fonts — Override the theme's custom font with the app's default font
Disable Theme Animations — Turn off animated backgrounds for a smoother experience
Background Image — Choose from several backgrounds included with your theme, or use your character's portrait
Show Background — Toggle the background on or off
Blur Background — Apply a blur effect for better text readability
Image Opacity — Adjust how vivid or subtle the background appears (5%–100%)

Some themes let you use your character's portrait as the background! Look for the "Character" option in the background thumbnails.

Video themes provide stunning animated backgrounds but may impact performance on older devices. You can always switch to static backgrounds in the customizer.
🔄 Changing or Removing Themes
- To switch themes: Open the theme selector and choose a different theme
- To remove a theme: Select the "Classic" theme (the default AICHIKI look)
- Each conversation remembers its theme – changing one chat doesn't affect others
📱 Performance Tips
If you experience slowness with themes:
- Disable video backgrounds – Switch to static images in the customizer
- Lower background opacity – Reduce to 50-70% for better performance
- Enable blur sparingly – Blur effects can be resource-intensive
- Turn off animations – Use the "Disable Animations" toggle in the customizer
- Use Classic theme – The default theme is optimized for maximum performance
