Chat Quality & The Daily Allowance

AICHIKI gives every user unlimited messages and unlimited regenerations. That's a promise we don't break.
But the AI models that power the conversations cost real money to run — and the smartest ones cost a lot more than the lighter ones. So if we promised "unlimited messages on the very best model forever, for one flat fee", the math would simply not work, and you'd eventually see one of the things we never want you to see: ads, message caps, paywalls mid-chat, or — worst of all — the app shutting down.
Instead, we built something we think is fairer to everyone.
How It Works
Every plan comes with a daily quality allowance — a generous budget for the day that's tuned to your subscription:
- 💎 Premium — starts you at the Premium tier (our best models)
- ⭐ Plus — starts you at the Plus tier (great models, slightly lighter)
- 🆓 Free — starts you at the Free tier (solid models for everyday chat)
You spend that allowance naturally as you chat. The longer and more elaborate the conversations, the faster you use it.
When you reach the day's ceiling, your chats gracefully step down one tier — Premium becomes Plus, Plus becomes Free, Free becomes Ultra Cheap. Your messages keep flowing without interruption. No "you've hit your limit, please wait" wall. Just slightly lighter models for the rest of the day.
At midnight, your full allowance resets. Tomorrow you start back at the top of your plan, like nothing happened.
The Chat Quality Dashboard
You're never left guessing where you are. From any chat, open the Chat Quality dashboard and you'll see:
- Which tier you're currently chatting on
- How close you are to the daily ceiling
- When your allowance resets
- What tiers your plan unlocks at full quality
It's there so the system is transparent, not sneaky. We'd rather you see the gauge than wonder why a reply felt different.
Why We Built It This Way
We had a choice to make from day one, and we picked this approach on purpose:

The trade-off: occasionally, on a heavy chat day, you'll roleplay on a slightly lighter model than you started with. We think that's a way smaller ask than any of the alternatives.
"Will I notice the drop?"
Honestly — sometimes yes, sometimes barely at all.
The lighter models in our pool are still genuinely good — we curate them carefully, and they handle most conversations just fine. Where you might notice a difference is in deep, layered, nuanced scenes — the kind where the very best models really shine. If a reply ever feels off, you can wait until midnight (the reset is fast in real time), or simply continue and pick back up at full quality the next day.
"Is this a new restriction?"
No. The daily allowance system has been part of AICHIKI from day one. We've simply made it more visible over time, with the Chat Quality dashboard, so you can see what's happening rather than just experiencing it.
A Note on Fairness
Here's the bigger picture: AICHIKI isn't backed by a giant ad network or an investor pile-on. It's run by a small team that wants to keep building this thing for years to come. The daily allowance is the boring, honest math that lets us promise unlimited messaging without going broke — and lets you keep using the app without it turning into something neither of us would enjoy.
